Dr Jody Waters acquired her Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery from James Cook University and has been a GP for over 9+ years.
She graduated with High Distinction and received the James Cook University Gold Academic Medal for her academic achievements.
During her initial years, she gained invaluable experience as a Paediatric Registrar and then Neonatal intensive Care Registrar, in addition to time spent working in Emergency Medicine.
She has also received numerous accolades including the Rural Doctors Association of Queensland Prize in Rural Medicine, RACGP North Queensland Sub-Faculty Prize in General Practice, JCU Mick McLoughlin Memorial Prize in Rural Medicine, JCU Ethics Prize, the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists Mental Health Prize, and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Women’s Health Award.
Dr Jody enjoys all aspects of Family Medicine and has a special interest in Women's Health, Shared Antenatal Care, Paediatrics and Mental Health. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family.
